Ama Romaine

Ama Romaine serves as General Counsel for GoTo Foods, the Atlanta-based enterprise behind seven iconic foodservice brands, including Auntie Anne’s®, Carvel®, Cinnabon®, Jamba®, Moe’s Southwest Grill®, McAlister’s Deli® and Schlotzsky’s®. She brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience spanning hospitality, real estate, governance, compliance and public policy. In her role, Ama provides strategic counsel across the enterprise, supporting disciplined growth, sound governance and long-term franchisee and business success across the portfolio. 

A trusted advisor to executive leadership teams and boards, Ama is known for translating complex legal and regulatory matters into clear, business-forward strategies that support scalable growth and operational excellence. She has led legal, risk, compliance and public policy functions across multi-unit and highly regulated businesses, including serving as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Progress Residential and as Global General Counsel for Blackstone Real Estate Asset Management and its portfolio companies. 

Earlier in her career, Ama spent more than 15 years in hospitality leadership roles with G6 Hospitality and Hilton Worldwide, partnering closely with brand and franchise leaders to support systemwide growth, operational discipline and strong brand stewardship. 

Ama has extensive experience supporting enterprise transformation initiatives, governance modernization and complex business operations at scale. Her work has included oversight related to IPOs, large-scale asset management platforms and enterprise compliance programs designed to support long-term growth and organizational effectiveness. 

Ama earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from York University and a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.
